Behind The Scenes: A look at my logo design process
More Than good looking: How I Actually Design Your Logo
So you’re thinking about working with me on a logo. That’s awesome. But you’re probably wondering, “What’s the actual process? How do you get from ‘my business idea’ to that final, killer logo?”
Honestly? My process isn’t a rigid, 10-step factory line. It’s way more organic and intuitive. I don’t just open a software and start clicking. For me, it always starts on paper.
Phase 1: The Pen & Paper Foundation
Before any pixels are placed, I’m sketching. A lot. I start with hand-drawn ideas—quick, messy, and free—until a concept starts to click. This is where the magic seeds are planted. I’m not just drawing something I like; I’m searching for an idea that resonates with two crucial things:
Visual Appeal for Your Target Market. It’s not about my personal taste. It’s about what will connect with your people. What shapes, feelings, and vibes will speak directly to them?
The "Hypnotizing" Potential. This is key. Will your logo make someone do a double-take? If they see it mixed in with their daily scroll or on a store shelf, will it stop them for a second and make them want to know more? That’s the hook.
Phase 2: The Science Behind the Sketch
Yeah, design is visual communication. But logo design? That’s applied psychology. The shapes, the spacing, the color theory—these aren’t arbitrary choices. They’re tools to build trust, signal energy, or communicate stability. This subconscious science is always in the back of my mind, influencing every curve and line.
Phase 3: From "Aha!" to "Absolutely."
I’ve always known I wanted to build brands. All my passion and skill goes into this. So I don’t stop sketching until I land on a concept that does two things: it makes me feel like I’ve hit a million-dollar idea (that confident, electric feeling), and, more importantly, I know it will meet and exceed your expectations.
When you come to work with me, you’re not looking for a generic, templated symbol. You’re looking for something unique, something that will stand out in a crowded space. You work with me because you connect with my style and trust this intuitive process.
The end goal is simple: to give you a logo that’s not just a mark, but a magnet—for attention, for loyalty, and for your business’s next chapter.
